Animation Worksheep is the education platform of Anim’est, whose coordinator is Vlad Ilicevici, executive director of the festival. The project is meant to support the primary goal of the association ESTE’N’EST, the organizer of Anim’est, namely to develop the local animation cinema industry. During this intensive animation workshop, the young animators are given all the necessary tools to create their own animation, under guidance from specialists in the industry. The latest edition of Worksheep gathered together, for three weeks, 13 young animators coordinated by the trainers Dan Panaitescu, Luiz Stockler and Anna Florea, and supervised by the Romanian animator Matei Branea and by the director and script-writer Andrei Tănase. The final product, a 2D animated video for a song on the latest album by the band Subcarpați, “Satele Unite ale Balcanilor”/ “The United Villages of the Balkans”, will be screened during Animusic Night together with other projects created by participants in the previous workshops of Animation Worksheep, among which two videos for songs by the bands Environments and Robin and the Backstabbers.

After the screenings, the night will continue with a concert by Orkid, a trio with post-rock, shoegaze and post-punk influences, made up of Vlad Ilicevici – voice, guitar, Radu Pop – percussion, and Andrei Tănase – bass guitar. This will be the launch concert for the first album of the band, “Standing Still in the Dark”, and will include all the nine songs on the album, each sung together with a guest musician. Opening for Orkid will be the alternative rock band ELEVEN, made up of Dani Avram (voice, guitar), Dorin Stan (guitar), Mugur Iliescu (bass guitar) and Radu Moldovan (drums, backing vocals).
