We present the first trailer for Another Day of Life, a feature film created and produced by Platige Image.
The project will be officially unveiled at the upcoming 2013 Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
„The trailer presents the features that will make our movie unique, including an innovative combination of two filming techniques (computer animation and film stock) and original visuals. All of this is just a taste of the movie to come, an introduction to the film’s final look. The crew is still working on creating technological solutions that would allow them to tell the film’s story in the best way possible”
Another Day of Life is based on the book of the same title written by Ryszard Kapuściński, an account of the writer’s experiences during the Angolan Civil War in 1975. The journalist spent 13 years covering war-torn Africa but the things he sees in Angola seem to be too much for even him to handle. He lands in the middle of the inferno of conflict which will irrevocably change his very nature. Kapuściński sought truth amidst an ocean of chaos, nearly getting himself killed in the process.
PLATIGE FILMS, a subsidiary company of Platige Image SA established to produce feature films, is the movie’s main producer. Spanish, German, and Belgian companies serve as co-producers of the feature and supply a large portion of its overall budget. In Poland, the film received support from the Polish Film Institute, and the studio established collaborative ties with the Polish Television as well as Next Film, a distribution company. In Spain, Another Day of Life placed first out of 240 projects competing for funding from the Spanish Film Institute. We have also entered a working relationship with Celluloid Dreams, one of the most respected sales agencies in the world.
The project was presented at multiple trade events and film festivals, including the Berlin International Film Festival, Annecy International Animated Film Festival, and Cartoon Movie in Lyon.
All the involved partners believe in the potential of adapting the work of one of the greatest war correspondents of the 20th century for the big screen and are looking forward to the movie’s international release.
After two years of preparations, the film has entered the production stage. The movie is slated for release in 2015.
