VIEW Conference is proud to announce that director Dan Scalon will present Monster University during VIEWFest, 11 October.
Dan Scanlon is a director and storyboard artist at Pixar Animation Studios. He joined Pixar in 2001 as a storyboard artist for Cars. He went on to write and co-direct the Cars short Mater and the Ghost Light. He was also on the senior creative team for Disney/Pixar’s Brave. Dan wrote, directed, and produced his own live action film Tracy in 2009, which won Best Michigan Feature at the First Detroit Independent Film Festival. Scanlon won Best Director.
He just finished directing his first feature-length film, Monsters University, the 3D computer-animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film received positive reviews and was a box office success, grossing $714 million against its estimated budget of $200 million.
At VIEWFest, the Turin’s digital movie festival, Despicable Me 2 CG supervisor Bruno Chauffard of MacGuff will talk about digital minions.
