Creepy Animation Night and The Night of the Trash Bin Treasures
After the success of last year’s event, The Night of the Animated Bad Taste, Anim’est awaits its uninhibited fans for a new and challenging edition of the show Michael Helmerhorst.
The Night of the Trash Bin Treasures is a new program of strange, evil, perverse or merely inappropriate films, carefully selected by the curator and collector Michael Helmerhorst who searched his animation archives’ dirtiest corners and rarest collections, bringing to light films hardly seen elsewhere.
Either Close Encounters of the Worst Kind, StarWars spoofs & rippoffs, ugly dolls doing even uglier things or simply sexploitation and politically incorrectness, the most open spectators will experience a new, indigestible event, but equally hard to forget, on Saturday, October 5 at Patria, at 23:00.
The fifth edition of Creepy Animation Night promises an intense night. The strangest and scariest animations will awake, amuse and horrify the audience the night of Friday, October 11, from 23:00.
Wild Bichons of Stefan Nadelman, awarded in 2011 with the trophy for Best Music Video for Ramona Fall – I say fever, Abyssus abyssum invocat, the latest film by Wes Simpkins and certainly one of the most frightening in this festival’s selection, the unusual visual improvisation of Donato Sansone, Grotesque Photo Booth, Baby, I Love You, directed by Faiyaz Jafri (Hello Bamby), The present, a short film whose atmosphere will remind fans of the Isle by Kim Ki Duk and Unicorn Blood (dir. Alberto Vazquez), produced by Pedro Rivero, director of the acclaimed films La crisis Carnivora and Bird Boy, present at the 2010 festival: These are some of the titles whose bravest animation fans will be able to enjoy.
This year, the films will be followed by an Environments live-act. The Romanian band, consisting of Ștefan Panea, Alex ‘Para’ Ghiță and Marius Costache will accompany the frightening animations with experimental music, hard to classify in a genre, in an inconvenient and contemplative acoustical reverie.
